What should I consider?

Mole removal is a minor surgical procedure, carried out under local anesthetic at Brighton le Sands Clinic. This is a private procedure

What happens during my mole removal procedure?

Mole removal should only ever be undertaken by an accredited medical professional. It would normally involve the numbing of the area with a local anesthetic, and then mole surgically extracted. Dr Saliba then stitches up the resulting minor wound. Your mole removal also includes the removal of your stitches often after 1 week.

We will also send your mole off for pathology tests post extraction and advise you of your results when available.

How long will my mole removal take?

Every patient is different and this will depend also on the individual. You should expect to set aside 1 hour for an individual mole removal. Dr Saliba will advise at your initial consultation what you should expect

Are there any risks with mole removals?

All invasive procedures carry some element of risk. There is a risk of post extraction infection. This is rare, but should be considered a risk, Dr Saliba will monitor you in the week after your minor surgery and inspect the wound when removing your stitches.

Is there any downtime?

You will be sore on the site of the removal for a few days after the removal and have stitches on the wound for 1 week. You will also need the wound dressed for a period too.
