Breast enlargement is a surgical operation, carried out under general anesthetic where your breasts are enlarged, normally using a surgical implant
Medicare does not cover the cost of this surgery and you should consider your personal financial circumstances, as well as others before agreeing to this procedure.
Dr Saliba creates a cut on the (normally) underside or side of your breast, and places the required implant in front of your breast bone, but behind the breast tissue. The incision is kept to as small as possible, and her goal is to minimise any scarring from the incision. You will be asleep during the surgery, and our ansthetist will monitor how your body is coping with the anesthesia. After the operation is complete, you will be moved to the recovery area, to start your recovery
Breast implants should be regularly checked but would normally last for 10-15 years. We only use safe implants, but even so, a regular check should be scheduled with Dr Saliba
All surgery has an element of risk involved. The surgery will be performed under geneeral anesthetic. Lifestyle, weight, and smoking status will alter the risk profile of anesthetic. You will be monitored throughout your operation though. there is also a risk from the surgery. Please discuss your individual case directly with Dr Saliba and she will advise you accordingly.
You can expect to stay in hospital over night after your operation. Assuming there are no signs of infection, and that you can go home next day, you will be advised that recovery would take normally between 1 and 2 weeks. Dr Saliba will advise you for your own particular circumstances and type of operation
We insist on seeing all patients for a detailed consultation as a first step. Please call 1300 255185 and arrange to book your private consultation with Dr Saliba at either her Brighton Le Sands, Campbelltown, or Fairfield clinics.

We often see the decision not to reconstruct the breast as an initial part of the patient’s treatment plan, but after recovery is underway, there is a change in the needs of some patients.
